Our Opening Ceremony
A truly memorable occasion, the Opening Ceremony featured captivating cultural dancers and a striking visual moment as representatives from the six World Health Organization regions—joined by the presidents of WFME and IMEAc—came together to complete the conference logo in the form of a puzzle symbolising unity and collaboration. The ceremony was further elevated by a lineup of inspirational speakers who set the tone for the days ahead.

The conference programme featured four engaging plenary sessions, alongside seven thought-provoking symposia that sparked meaningful dialogue on key issues in medical education. The schedule of parallel sessions offered a rich mix of workshops, research paper presentations, oral abstracts and poster sessions. Delegates also enjoyed valuable networking opportunities throughout the event.
WFME Declaration Launched at the Conference
At the conference, we proudly launched the WFME Declaration on Institutions’ Responsibility to Support Medical Students, Physicians in Postgraduate Education, and Physicians in Practice.
This Declaration calls on academic and health institutions, organisations, and individuals around the world to take meaningful action to support the health, wellbeing and professional development of medical students, physicians in postgraduate education, and physicians in practice. This commitment is essential to improving health outcomes for patients and populations globally.
The message is clear: safeguarding the wellbeing of medical students and physicians who care for our communities is not optional—it is a shared responsibility. Academic and health institutions have a critical responsibility to prioritise this work and drive lasting, systemic change. Only through sustained, collaborative institutional commitment can we build a healthier future for physicians—and the patients and populations they serve.
By signing the Declaration, you join a global movement dedicated to advancing this vital cause.
We invite you to read and sign the WFME Declaration today. Your support is crucial in driving meaningful change!
